Lazia is just 2 years old and an orphan. When she was found by Whisper's team and taken into our orphanage she was suffering from severe malaria, a skin disease, skin parasites and worms. She required hospitalisation and a blood transfusion in order to survive. She is now the happiest and youngest little angel proudly wearing Whisper's uniform and attending Whisper's school.

Sowedi was found in February 2010. At 3 years old he weighed just 9 kilos, had many living worms inside his skin as well as strong malaria. He was unable to walk and the only word he would say was "bread". Sowedi's story has become Whisper's testament to the power of change that we can bring to these young lives.

Justine is 7 years old. When she was found by Whisper she was just skin and bones, weighing only 10kg. She had several epileptic fits a day and she could not keep her eyes open. She was "fed" with half a cup of warm water every morning and was extremely weak with severe malaria. Now with ongoing epilepsy treatment, she is recovering!

Yusif is Sherina's brother and is 6 years old. After both his parents died, he and his sister lived in one single room with absolutely nothing. Many days they would go without any food. When they were found by Whisper, they had severe malaria, for which they have now received treatment. Both Yusif and Sherina are now happily attending school for the very first time in their lives, at One World Orphanage..

Rachel is now 4 years old. Her mother died after 1 week she was born. Her farther was an alcoholic. She lived with her HIV positive uncle who was donated a shelter by the church as he had nothing for his own family.

John is 5 years old. He and his brothers lived in a misserable conditions. Both of their parents died of AIDS two years ago. John has been found with over hundreds warms living inside his skin due to the lack of hygiene.

Josh. 7 years and brother of John. in his age he has never been to school and he spent many days cutting suggar canes to get money. He has had bad ear infection ever since he was a little boy. Never used to any discipline, he is now learning totally new live. And he finally smiles too!

Felix is 5 years old. He is not an orphan but his family can not look after him by providing a proper diet and good hygiene. When found by Whisper he was the saddest boy ever, very skinny and full of ring worms and other parasites. He is full of fear that if he goes back to his family, he will get sick again. Whisper now works with his family, to help improve their living conditions, and by providing basic education in hygiene and childcare, as well as employing his father William as chief gardener.

Maimuna is 5 years old. She attends Whisper's school and she is one of the top students in the class. She lives with her young single mother and two younger brothers. Her mother is struggling to provide for her children as she has no other family or land to grow food. Whisper now employes Maimuna's mother part time.

Ester is 5 years old and is Rachel's cousin. We have decided to help her as she was constantly sick at home. We have accepted her into our Whisper Nursery School where she is provided with good care and education.

Abudu is 9 years old and a total little star! We met him in 2009 when his life was at risk with a serious blood infection. We adopted his whole family after their mother left them with their partially blind father who was able to work and support the family. Their father, Yunisu is now a full time employee of One World Orphanage as a gardener..

Aisha is 14 years old and is the sister of Abudu and Samadu. Whisper is contributing to her school fees and lunches. The Muslim only, Primary School they attend does not have a cook and children must cook for themselves, which Whisper believes is not appropriate.

Samadu is 11 years old and is the brother of Abudu and Aisha. Whisper is also contributing to his school fees and lunches. The whole family left their village and moved to Mutai village so that their father could work for One World Orphanage as gardener in order to provide food and shelter for his family. They are very happy in their new life.

Grace is 10 years old and his brothers are John and Josh. As he is too old to be accommodated in our orphanage, Whisper found him an excellent boarding school where he is provided with food, medication and uniforms. July 2011 was the first time he had ever attended school.
