What is Child Sponsorship and How Does It Work?
Child Sponsorship basically means change which does not only need to be for one child, but means a change for the whole family or community. The caring commitment of sponsors like you will allow us to work together on providing sick children with necessary treatment, education and educational needs (such are uniforms, shoes, stationery, school lunches) as well as their families or extended families with basics such are new mattresses, blankets, house repairs, or a new shelter. As a sponsor, you will be connected to one of the Whisper child who will know your name and who will be frequently communicating with you mostly informing you about his day to day life via drawings, emails and letters. Every sponsored child also hopes to meet their sponsors, so you will be always welcomed to visit your child and find out for yourself what a difference your care makes.
Do My Donations go Directly to my Whisper Child?
Your sponsored Whisper child directly benefits from your donations however it does not mean that your child will be provided only with one partecular need that your donations are able to provide. Whisper combines donations from other donors to be able to meet any Whisper's child priorities, such as urgent medical treatment which can include hospital admission or any emergency need coming from their extended families.
How Do I Chose a Child to Sponsor?
Our outreach team knows best what child is in urgent need of sponsor. Therefore your sponsored child would be revealed to you after the submission of sponsorship agreement. This can be a child either living at One World Orphanage, a child visiting one of our Whisper schools or a child that is in need of medical treatment, education, or any other urgent life improvements. However Whisper may be advertising for a particular child who is in promt need of sponsor or if you are endeared with one of our Whisper Child and wish to sponsor them, please state their name on the Whisper Child Sponsorship Form.
How Can I Communicate With my Whisper Child?
When you sign for a Child's sponsorship, you will be asked about ways of communicating with your child. If you are a Facebook User and would prefer to be in touch via Facebook, this would be a great option for you to find out about his/her life via photos, videos and statuses. If you prefer emails, you can write to your child anytime via email provided and in return your sponsored child will reply often with photos attached. Letters are also personal way to get in touch. If your child receives your letter, he/she will likely reply with some drawings and little greeting message.
Can I Visit my Whisper Child? What Help Do you Provide?
Yes. You can visit your child anytime. You will also get to see what other work Whisper does thanks to your child sponsorship. If you wish to travel to Uganda (where Whisper currently operates) you can notify Whisper Team of dates you are thinking of going and Whisper will be able to offer you up to 50% cheaper flight tickets, free 69kg luggage allowance, flexible change of dates and flight ticket cancellation fee only at £25. Whisper will also organize Airport pick up and free accommodation.
